Ninth-ranked Royal Hali (8-10) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Galatasaray (13-5) in Gaziantep on Saturday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only three-point victory 70-67. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Galatasaray made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Royal Hali outrebounded Galatasaray 40-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Gabonese center Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American-Cypriot power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Royal Hali. Four Royal Hali players scored in double figures. Royal Hali's coach Stefanos Dedas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Galatasaray have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-5 record behind leader Fener.Ulker. Loser Royal Hali dropped to the tenth place with ten games lost. Galatasaray will face league's leader Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Royal Hali will play at home against Banvit BK (#5) and hope to win that game.
