Regular Season Round 18: Besiktas - Turk Telekom 83-80

Very expected game when 15th ranked Turk Telekom (4-13) was edged by ninth ranked Besiktas (9-9) in Istanbul 83-80 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Turk Telekom was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 16-point lead after three quarters before a 33-14 charge of Besiktas, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American point guard Nate Wolters (193-91, college: S.Dakota St.) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 4 assists. Nigerian power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-87, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 7 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American guard Michael Jenkins (193-86, college: Winthrop) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Turk Telekom. Four Besiktas and five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Besiktas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Usak. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. Besiktas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul BSB.
