Very expected game in Goettingen where 10th ranked B.Loewen (2-14) was crushed by fourth ranked Veilchen (10-7) 78-40 on Sunday. The game without a history. Veilchen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to B.Loewen's 26. Veilchen forced 25 B.Loewen turnovers. American guard Monique Smalls (168-91, college: Texas Tech) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 9 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Czech guard Katarina Flasarova (171-85) chipped in 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Jessica Freeman (163-91, college: N.C.Central) with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import center Mackenzie Morrison (195, college: William & Mary) scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. B.Loewen's coach Alexander Sauer gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Veilchen maintains fourth position in North with 10-7 record. B.Loewen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Veilchen will face Wusterhausen (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. B.Loewen will play against the league's leader Hannover and hope to win that game.
