Very predictable result when second ranked Acibadem (17-4) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Istanbul DSI (4-17) 83-74 on Tuesday. Acibadem looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international guard Kerem Tunceri (191-79) chipped in 10 points and 9 assists. Acibadem's coach Alp Bayramoglu used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Frank Robinson (193-84, college: CS Fullerton) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Serhat Buker (202-81) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Acibadem. Newly promoted Acibadem maintains second place with 17-4 record having four points less than leader Tofas. Istanbul DSI lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Acibadem will face Pertevniyal (#10) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul DSI will play on the road against Eskisehir Basket (#7) in Edirne and hope to win that game.
