Regular Season Round 18: Zaporizhya - Cherkasy 82-75

An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 4th ranked Cherkasy in a game in Zaporozhye versus Zaporizhya (#7) 82-75. Cherkasy was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Zaporizhya looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Alexander Rybalko (190-79) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and guard Stanislav Ovdeyenko (191-84) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Zaporizhya players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds by swingman Denis Noskov (202-90) did not help to save the game for Cherkasy. International forward Alexander Sizov (199-88) added 14 points. Cherkasy's coach Maksym Mikhelson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zaporizhya maintains seventh position with 10-16 record. Loser Cherkasy keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Zaporizhya will meet league's second-placed Khimik in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cherkasy will play against VolinBasket and hope to secure a win.
