Regular Season Round 22: Gediz - Adanaspor 85-81

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Gediz (17-5) won against at home 17th ranked Adanaspor (4-18) 85-81. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 21-13 Adanaspor's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 85-81 at the end of the game. It was a very good performance for American point guard Demontez Stitt (187-89, college: Clemson, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Gediz players scored in double figures. Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Ali Guney BA) replied with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and forward Hakan Uskuplu (200-83) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Adanaspor. Gediz have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-5 record having five points less than leader Tofas. Adanaspor lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Istanbul DSI. Gediz will play against Denizli (#4) on the road in the next round. Adanaspor will play against Sakarya BSB (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
