Regular Season Round 25: Arkadia - Gussing 66-68

Fifth-ranked Arkadia Lions (11-14) gave a tough game to first ranked Gussing Knights (21-3) in Traiskirchen on Friday. The visitors from Gussing managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected much easier game. Arkadia Lions cut a 14-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. American forward Cody Larson (206-91, college: S.Dakota St., agency: N.E.T.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90, agency: Two Points) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side Argentinian-Italian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Florian Trmal (199-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Gussing Knights have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-3 record. Arkadia Lions at the other side keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Klosterneuburg and Wels. Gussing Knights are looking forward to face Kapfenberg Bulls (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arkadia Lions will play against Dukes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
