Second Stage Round 4: Guifoes - Barreirense 69-58

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Barreirense (5-4) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Guifoes (5-4) 69-58. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Pedro Meireless (193-95) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Paulo Sereno (197-96) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Cape Verdean forward Kevin Coronel (197-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Daniel Margarido (191-92) added 17 points in the effort for Barreirense. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guifoes moved-up to twelfth place in Places 9-16, which they share with defeated Barreirense. Guifoes will play against Estoril Basket (#15) on the road in the next round. Barreirense will play against Sampaense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
