An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Dudenhofen. Second ranked BasCats Heidelberg faced 4th placed Speyer / Schifferstadt. Guests from Heidelberg (15-4) defeated host Speyer / Schifferstadt (11-8) 55-50. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 17-11 Speyer / Schifferstadt's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 55-50 at the end of the game. Speyer / Schifferstadt was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Sara Kranzhoefer (180-96) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Martina Kraus (186-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and forward Uta Gelbke (177-86) added 14 points in the effort for Speyer / Schifferstadt.
