No shocking result in a game when first ranked Gussing Knights (22-3) smashed at home 8th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (10-16) 62-42 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Gussing Knights. Kapfenberg Bulls was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kapfenberg Bulls to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 13 points in second half. The best player for the winners was international point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). International point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91, agency: HMS) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Gussing Knights players scored in double figures. Gussing Knights have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-3 record. Kapfenberg Bulls lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. Gussing Knights will face Dukes (#7) in Klosterneuburg in the next round where they are favorite. Kapfenberg Bulls will play at home against UBSC Graz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
