Regular Season Round 20: Amager - SISU 81-65

Date: February 23, 2016
Rather expected game in Kastrup where 7th ranked SISU (3-15) was defeated by fourth ranked Amager (10-7) 81-65 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Amager forced 25 SISU turnovers. Strangely SISU outrebounded Amager 52-33 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Emilie Fogelstrom (166-92) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and forward Melanie Elmgreen (174-92) who added 18 points and 6 steals during the contest. Four Amager players scored in double figures. Amager's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Olivia Applewhite (183-91, college: Dayton) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 20 rebounds and forward Victoria Mikkelsen (180-97) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Amager maintains fourth position with 10-7 record. SISU lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Amager are looking forward to face higher ranked Lemvig (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. SISU will have a break next round.
