Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Stevnsgade (4-21) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Horsholm (12-14) 85-74 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-74. Horsholm dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Stevnsgade's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) who scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Alonzo Brooks (201-84, college: Central Mo.) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and French Bruno Cingala-Mata (200-93) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Stevnsgade players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Horsholm maintains fifth position with 12-14 record. Stevnsgade lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with 21 games lost. Horsholm will meet higher ranked Naestved (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stevnsgade will play against Randers (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
