Regular Season Round 24: Bakken - Horsholm 80-53

Rather expected game in Aarhus where 5th ranked Horsholm (12-14) was crushed by second ranked Bakken (19-5) 80-53 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-53. Bakken dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Horsholm's 18. Bakken forced 25 Horsholm turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Horsholm's players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Morten Sahlertz (198-89) chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Andreas Amundsen (200-92) who recorded 15 points and international forward Jonathan Gilling (203-91, college: Arizona St.) added 13 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bakken have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 19-5 record having four points less than leader Horsens IC. Loser Horsholm keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Bakken will meet Svendborg (#4) on the road in the next round. Horsholm will play against Naestved and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
