The game in Mersin supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Nevsehir GHSIM (8-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Mersin Uni (8-10). Mersin Uni smashed Nevsehir GHSIM 87-60 on Friday. Mersin Uni dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Nevsehir GHSIM's 30. They outrebounded Nevsehir GHSIM 49-32 including 19 on the offensive glass. Mersin Uni looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Pelin Gulbag (172-91) contributed with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Center Ebru Agar (182-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and forward Gulnur Sandallioglu (187-87) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Nevsehir GHSIM. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mersin Uni moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with defeated Nevsehir GHSIM. Nevsehir GHSIM lost fourth consecutive game. Mersin Uni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Mersin to the arena Mersin Basketbal.
