The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked B.Loewen's (2-16) road loss to ninth ranked Barmer TV (7-11) in Wuppertal 55-63 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But B.Loewen won third quarter 15-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Barmer TV made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Barmer TV outrebounded B.Loewen 41-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Liz Brown (190, college: Richmond) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Chantal Neuwald (180-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Viktoria Jaeger (184) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Jessica Freeman (163-91, college: N.C.Central) added 15 points in the effort for B.Loewen. Barmer TV moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with TuSLi Berlin and Gruenberg. B.Loewen lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Barmer TV will face Wusterhausen (#11) on the road in the next round. B.Loewen will play against SG BBZ Opladen and hope to win that game.
