Regular Season Round 19: Trabzonspor - Karsiyaka 67-63

An interesting game took place in Trabzon where 4th placed Karsiyaka (12-7) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Trabzonspor (8-11) 67-63. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Karsiyaka. Worth to mention a great performance of Polish power forward Damian Kulig (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Courtney Fells (196-86, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American Kenny Gabriel (209-89, college: Auburn) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import forward Josh Carter (200-88, college: Texas A&M) added 12 points in the effort for Karsiyaka. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Trabzonspor moved-up to eleventh place. Defending champion Karsiyaka keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Trabzonspor's next round opponent will be higher ranked Besiktas (#10) in Istanbul and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Karsiyaka will play at home against the league's second-placed Anadolu Efes (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
