Second Stage Round 9: SDYUSHOR-5 - SDYUSHOR-4 61-67

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked SDYUSHOR-5 (1-2) lost to third ranked SDYUSHOR-4 (3-1) in Dnipropetrovsk 61-67 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But SDYUSHOR-5 won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SDYUSHOR-4 dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SDYUSHOR-5's 26. It was a good game for forward Anna Chechetkina (180-95) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Tamara Kucherenko (-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Oksana Fastova (168-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Pasiko Hvichiani (-0) added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for SDYUSHOR-5. SDYUSHOR-4 moved-up to second place. Newly promoted SDYUSHOR-5 keeps the seventh position with two games lost. SDYUSHOR-4 will face league's leader HAI in Kharkov in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SDYUSHOR-5 will play at home against LDUFK-Skif (#4) and hope to win that game.
