Regular Season Round 19: Fener.Ulker - Galatasaray 77-68

Date: February 27, 2016
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce Ulker (#1) and Galatasaray (#3). Fenerbahce Ulker (15-4) won against visiting Galatasaray (13-6) 77-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Galatasaray. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-68. Fenerbahce Ulker outrebounded Galatasaray 34-18 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Nigerian power forward Ekpe Udoh (208-87, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-92) helped adding 10 points and 7 assists. Four Fenerbahce Ulker players scored in double figures. At the losing side Gabonese center Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) responded with 21 points and 4 blocks (made all of his seven free throws) and American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Galatasaray's coach Ergin Ataman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fenerbahce Ulker have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-4 record. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Fenerbahce Ulker are looking forward to face Banvit BK (#6) in Balikesir in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Galatasaray will play at home against Usak Sportlif and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
