Regular Season Round 21: Itzehoe - Hertener Loewen 89-67

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Itzehoe (11-10) smashed at home 10th ranked Hertener Loewen (7-14) 89-67 on Saturday. Itzehoe forced 25 Hertener Loewen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Adrian Breitlauch (193-93) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) who recorded 19 points and the other American import power forward Brandon Griffin (202-82, college: SE Missouri St.) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively. Five Itzehoe and four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Itzehoe moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Art.Dragons. Hertener Loewen lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Itzehoe will face higher ranked AstroStars (#3) in Bochum in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hertener Loewen will play at home against Artland Dragons (#6) and hope to win that game.
