Regular Season Round 30: Aistes-LSU - Siauliai-Univ. 60-72

The most shocking disappointment of round 30 was a home defeat of 6th ranked Aistes-LSU (2-18) to seventh ranked Siauliai-Univ. (3-17) 72-60 in the game for the sixth place. Aistes-LSU was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-10 charge of Siauliai-Univ., which allowed them to win the game. They made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. Siauliai-Univ. forced 22 Aistes-LSU turnovers and outrebounded them 48-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Aistes-LSU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Fantasia Hilliard (160-93, college: Sacramento St.) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Ligita Tamutyte (176-99) chipped in 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Five Siauliai-Univ. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Laura Zelnyte (190-94) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Siauliai-Univ. moved-up to sixth place. Aistes-LSU lost fifteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. Siauliai-Univ. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aistes-LSU will play on the road against the league's second-placed Utena (#2) and is hoping to win this game.
