The game in Klaipeda supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Utena (17-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Fortuna (5-15). Utena smashed Fortuna 75-53 on Saturday. Utena forced 19 Fortuna turnovers. The best player for the winners was international swingman Marina Solopova (180-90) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Rima Valentiene (170-78) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was center Justina Matuzonyte (195-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Kriste Druskyte (180-92) added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Utena have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Suduva. Fortuna lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 15 games lost. Utena will meet at home bottom-ranked Aistes-LSU (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Fortuna will play against the league's leader Suduva in Marijampole and hope to secure a win.
