Second Stage Round 9: Tavriyska Zivka - Suzirja 69-66

A very close game took place in Kherson between Tavriyska Zivka and Suzirja. Sixth ranked Tavriyska Zivka (1-6) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Suzirja (1-6). Tavriyska Zivka managed to escape with a 3-point win 69-66 in the game for the sixth place. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 20-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Tavriyska Zivka dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Suzirja's 16. They outrebounded Suzirja 54-41 including 17 on the offensive glass. Tavriyska Zivka looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Point guard Olga Malina (170-88) nailed 9 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Lolita Sysoyeva (172-95) accounted for 6 points and 12 assists. Tavriyska Zivka's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Yana Holubosh (179-96) came up with 23 points and guard Elena Bondar (165-91) added 7 points and 17 rebounds respectively for Suzirja in the defeat. Tavriyska Zivka maintains sixth place with 1-6 record, which they share with defeated Suzirja. It was Suzirja's third loss in a row. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
