Regular Season Round 21: Rist Wedel - Stahnsdorf 85-77

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked RSV Eintracht (7-14) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked SC Rist Wedel (7-14) 85-77 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for SC Rist Wedel especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. RSV Eintracht was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Isaac Gordon (196-88, college: UTEP) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Helge Baues (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Kenneth Cooper (208-87, college: UAB) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Jackson Capel (191-87, college: Evangel) added 25 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Hertener Loewen and Stahnsdorf. SC Rist Wedel will face league's leader Iserlohn on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
