Second Stage Round 9: Interkhim - Suzirja 81-38

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Interkhim (8-1) crushed 7th ranked Suzirja (1-6) in Odessa 81-38 on Sunday. The game without a history. Interkhim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Suzirja to just 6 points in second quarter. Interkhim dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Suzirja's 18. Interkhim forced 19 Suzirja turnovers and outrebounded them 40-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Suzirja's players. It was a good game for center Kristina Karp (193-98) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Yulia Musienko (178-97) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Coach Iryna Shchipakina's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Elena Bondar (165-91) answered with 9 points and 5 rebounds and Yana Holubosh (179-96) added 9 points in the effort for Suzirja. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Interkhim. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Suzirja lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
