The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South. Ehingen/Urspringschule defeated 11th ranked Saarlouis in Allmendingen 73-61. Ehingen/Urspringschule looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Tobias Jahn (204-86, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Devon Moore (193-89, college: JMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures. Ehingen/Urspringschule's coach Domenik Reinboth used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import center Frank Snow (208-91, college: Southern) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Karlsruhe. Saarlouis lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Saarlouis will play next round against Weissenhorn Youngstars trying to get back on the winning streak. Ehingen/Urspringschule will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked BG Karlsruhe at home.
