Regular Season Round 24: Acibadem - Akhisar Bld 82-75

There was no surprise in Istanbul where 10th ranked Akhisar Bld (10-14) was defeated by second ranked Acibadem (20-4) 82-75. It looked good early as Akhisar Bld took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Acibadem had a 24-15 second period charge getting the lead and Akhisar Bld was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-82. It was a good game for American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard D.J. Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward D.J. Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Akhisar Bld. Acibadem have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted Acibadem maintains second position with 20-4 record having just three points less than leader Tofas. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Acibadem's next round opponent will be Bandirma Kir. (#16) in Balikesir which should be an easy win for them. Akhisar Bld will play at home against Eskisehir Basket (#7) and hope to win that game.
