The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Dragon Force's (5-7) road loss to fourth ranked Benfica B (6-5) 58-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 19 points. Benfica B dominated on the defensive end, holding Dragon Force to just 7 points in second quarter. They also forced 20 Dragon Force turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 35 on the defensive glass. Swingman Sergio Silva (193-96) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and center Ricardo Monteiro (208-97) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Benfica B players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Nuno Sa (197-97) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Pedro Oliveira (179-97) scored 8 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Benfica B maintains fourth position in Places 1-8 with 6-5 record. Newly promoted Dragon Force keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Benfica B are looking forward to face Sangalhos (#7) on the road in the next round. Dragon Force will have a break next round.
