LDUFK-Skif (#4) was upset in Poltava by eighth ranked Poltavshina 77-72. The hosts were already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-15 LDUFK-Skif's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 77-72 at the end of the game. Poltavshina shot 21 for 38 from the free-throw line, while LDUFK-Skif only scored five points from the stripe. Poltavshina had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Khrystyna Yarych (-0) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Valeriya Desyatnyk supported her with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Poltavshina players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 30 points and 16 rebounds by Anzhelika Zvolyak did not help to save the game for LDUFK-Skif. Center Kateryna Skakalina (185-97) added 8 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Poltavshina maintains eighth position with 1-5 record. It was LDUFK-Skif's third loss in a row. They dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Poltavshina will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. LDUFK-Skif will play on the road against Politekhnika (#6) in Lviv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
