Regular Season Round 24: Afyon - Tofas 55-90

TBL top team - Tofas (23-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Afyon (11-13) in Afyonkarahisar 90-55. Tofas had a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by point guard Kadir Bayram (185-96) who scored that evening 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) supported him with 21 points. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by American center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) did not help to save the game for Afyon. His fellow American import forward K'Zell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tofas maintains first position with 23-1 record. Afyon at the other side keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Gelisim. Tofas will play against Socar Petkim (#13) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Afyon will play against Gelisim (#9) in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
