Regular Season Round 19: Bipa Basket - Zaporizhya 56-69

There was a small surprise in Odessa where sixth ranked Zaporizhya (11-17) defeated 6th ranked Bipa Basket (11-17) 69-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Zaporizhya. Bipa Basket was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Zaporizhya forced 24 Bipa Basket turnovers. Bipa Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Yakov Zmitrovich (200-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Yuriy Kondrakov (185-96) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Four Zaporizhya players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Chris Carter (196-92, college: Florida Tech, agency: Interperformances) scored 10 points and 9 assists. Bipa Basket's coach Vadim Pudzyrei rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Zaporizhya maintains sixth place with 11-17 record, which they share with defeated Bipa Basket. Bipa Basket lost their third game in a row. Zaporizhya will face higher ranked Dynamo (#3) in Kyiv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
