Regular Season Round 30: Lietuvos rytas - Nevezis 87-70

The game with biggest result difference took place in Vilnius. Local Lietuvos rytas (21-6) beat 9th ranked Nevezis (8-19) 87-70. It looked good early as Nevezis took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lietuvos rytas had a 23-16 second period charge getting the lead and Nevezis was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-87. Lietuvos rytas dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 24 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Nevezis 41-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. International power forward Arturas Gudaitis (211-93) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and international swingman Gediminas Orelikas (199-90) supported him with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Taylor King (203-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Nevezis. Center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lietuvos rytas maintains second position with 21-6 record having just three points less than leader Zalgiris. Nevezis lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 19 games lost. Lietuvos rytas' next round opponent will be again Nevezis (#9) in Kedainiai and are hoping to win another game.
