Regular Season Round 30: Lietkabelis - P.Zvaigzdes 82-83

Important game to mention about took place in Panevezys. Eighth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (10-17) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Lietkabelis (11-16) 83-82 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lietkabelis won fourth quarter 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international swingman Steponas Babrauskas (197-84) who saved his team from a defeat with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Ukrainian Andriy Agafonov (208-86) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) replied with 15 points and Croatian center Jurica Zuza (208-78) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lietkabelis. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lietkabelis' coach Kazys Maksvytis tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. P.Zvaigzdes maintains eighth position with 10-17 record. Lietkabelis lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
