We should mention about the upset which took place in Giresun, where higher ranked Darussafaka (12-8) lost to fourteenth ranked Yesilgiresun (7-13) in a road game 72-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Darussafaka. Yesilgiresun made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Darussafaka 35-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Darussafaka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American-Ivorian point guard Doron Perkins (189-83, college: Santa Clara) who scored that evening 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 19 points by Georgian Manuchar Markoishvili (197-86) did not help to save the game for Darussafaka. American power forward Marcus Slaughter (204-85, college: San Diego St.) added 12 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Darussafaka's coach Oktay Mahmudi tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Yesilgiresun moved-up to thirteenth place. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Yesilgiresun's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Istanbul BSB (#16) on the road. Darussafaka will play against Konyaspor (#14) and hope to win that game.
