Regular Season Round 22: Mainz - Bamberg 76-68

The most important game in the last round took place in Mainz between third ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (13-9) and ninth ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (10-12) on Wednesday night. Don Bosco Bamberg was defeated by ASC Theresianum Mainz in a tough game on the road 68-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Don Bosco Bamberg won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (181-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Bria Richardson (173, college: Pepperdine) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four ASC Theresianum Mainz players scored in double figures. Latvian guard Ieva Jansone (180-90, college: Valparaiso) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Estonian guard Liisi Sokman (166-88) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Don Bosco Bamberg. ASC Theresianum Mainz have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Wuerzburg and Wasserburg II. Don Bosco Bamberg at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Speyer.
