Regular Season Round 25: Istanbul DSI - Sakarya BSB 74-78

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Sakarya BSB (17-8) won against on the road bottom-ranked Istanbul DSI (5-20) 78-74 on Friday. American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 22 rebounds for the winners. Forward Kerem Ozkan (201-88) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Sakarya BSB players scored in double figures. American forward Mikael Hopkins (206, college: Georgetown) produced 9 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import guard Frank Robinson (193-84, college: CS Fullerton) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sakarya BSB maintains fifth place with 17-8 record. Loser Istanbul DSI dropped to the bottom position with 20 games lost. Sakarya BSB will face Pertevniyal (#10) in Istanbul in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Istanbul DSI will play on the road against Balikesir (#6) and hope to win that game.
