Regular Season Round 20: Urla BLD - Nevsehir GHSIM 94-51

There was a small surprise in Izmir where tenth ranked Urla BLD (8-13) outleveled 7th ranked Nevsehir GHSIM (8-12) 94-51 on Saturday. Urla BLD dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Nevsehir GHSIM's 28. Urla BLD forced 20 Nevsehir GHSIM turnovers and outrebounded them 53-9 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Urla BLD looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Molly Schlemer (196-92, college: Cal Poly - SLO) who had a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 23 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field). Forward Tugba Kilinc (180-82) chipped in 9 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Seyma Kum (-90) produced 15 points and center Ebru Agar (182-90) added 10 points, 5 assists and 6 steals respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Urla BLD moved-up to ninth place in Group B. Nevsehir GHSIM lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Urla BLD will face league's leader Mersin Basketbal on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
