Regular Season Round 22: Herner - Oberhausen 76-61

Very expected game when 11th ranked Oberhausen (5-17) was defeated on the road by third ranked Herner TC (16-6) 76-61. It looked good early as Oberhausen took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Herner TC had a 20-11 second period charge getting the lead and Oberhausen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-76. They outrebounded Oberhausen 41-25 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for the former international point guard Lea Mersch (170-87) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Melissa Williams (185, college: E.Washington) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Ramona Tews (172-92) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Oberhausen. Herner TC have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-6 record having six points less than leader Wasserburg. Oberhausen at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 17 games lost.
