Very important is a road loss of second ranked Balkan (16-5) against eighth ranked Yambol (6-15) on Saturday night. Visiting Balkan was defeated by Yambol in Yambol 95-77. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Yambol's pressure prevailed and they won that period 30-19 extending their advantage to 18 points. It was a great shooting night for Yambol especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was power forward Denis Agre (205-88, college: Pepperdine) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. Serbian point guard Milijan Bocka (185-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Four Yambol players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Brandon Fortenberry (190-90, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Beo Basket) who recorded 20 points and Serbian power forward Dusan Cvetkovic (205-89, agency: Beo Basket) added 5 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yambol maintains eighth place with 6-15 record. Loser Balkan keeps the second position with five games lost. Yambol will meet at home higher ranked Rilski (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Balkan will play against the league's leader Lukoil Acad. where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
