Regular Season Round 31: Nevezis - Vytautas 72-78

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Vytautas (15-13) won against 9th ranked Nevezis (8-20) in Kedainiai 78-72. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-17. But Nevezis won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Vytautas players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Taylor King (203-88, college: Concordia Irvine, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Vytautas maintains fourth place with 15-13 record, which they share with Juventus. Nevezis lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 20 games lost. Vytautas will play against higher ranked Neptunas (#3) in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play at home against the league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
