The game in Kaunas was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Palanga (19-17) played at the court of sixth ranked Zalgiris II (18-18). Zalgiris II defeated Palanga 72-62 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Palanga. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris II. Palanga managed to win fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Palanga to just 7 points in first quarter. Zalgiris II dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Palanga's 26. The winners were led by power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) who scored that evening 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Paulius Valinskas (190-95) supported him with 12 points and 4 assists. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by center Matas Jucikas (205-94) did not help to save the game for Palanga. Forward Aurimas Urbonas (197-93) added 6 points and 9 assists. Zalgiris II maintains sixth position with 18-18 record. Loser Palanga dropped to the fourth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Perlas-MRU. Zalgiris II will meet Telsiai (#7) in the next round. Palanga will play against the league's leader Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole and hope to secure a win.
