Second Stage Round 7: Sangalhos - Benfica B 96-68

An interesting game where host Sangalhos (#7) rolled over 4th placed Benfica B with 28-point difference 96-68 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-68. Sangalhos forced 20 Benfica B turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Nuno Bizarro (192-80) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. Guard Goncalo Catarino (173-94) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. At the losing side swingman Sergio Silva (193-96) responded with 15 points and Slovenian guard Aljaz Slutej (188-96) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sangalhos (4-9) moved-up to sixth place in Places 1-8, which they share with Vasco. Loser Benfica B keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Sangalhos will meet league's leader Illiabum in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Benfica B will play against Angrabasket and hope to secure a win.
