Regular Season Round 28: Koeln Rh.Stars - Chemnitz 71-78

Date: March 13, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Koeln Rh.Stars (11-16) lost at home to tenth ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (13-15) 78-71 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 25-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BV Chemnitz 99 made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Greg Logins (203-88, college: Canisius, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana, agency: Court Side) contributed with 20 points (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Four BV Chemnitz 99 players scored in double figures. Guard David Downs (188-91, college: Seattle Pacific) replied with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi) added 10 points and 6 blocks in the effort for Koeln Rh.Stars. Koeln Rh.Stars' coach Arne Woltmann rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BV Chemnitz 99 moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Koeln Rh.Stars keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. BV Chemnitz 99 will face ETB Wohnbau (#14) in Essen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koeln Rh.Stars will play on the road against Dragons Rhoendorf and hope to win that game.
