Second Stage Round 7: Terceira - Angra 73-55

There was no surprise in Angra Heroismo where 8th ranked Angrabasket (3-10) was defeated by second ranked Terceira (10-3) 73-55 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-55. Naturalized Sao Tome and Principe center Ekjersey Viana (203-77) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Fernando Ferreira (198-94) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Terceira players scored in double figures. American point guard Jarvis Davis (183, college: Gardner-Webb) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and Russian forward Alexander Kravtsov (194-87) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Terceira maintains second place in Places 1-8 with 10-3 record behind leader Illiabum. Angrabasket lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Terceira will face Atletico (#3) in Lisboa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Angrabasket will play on the road against Benfica B (#4) in Lisboa and hope to win that game.
