There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Bayer Giants (7-21) won against higher ranked Nuernberg (13-15) in Nurnberg 92-83 on Sunday. The game without a history. Bayer Giants led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Rod Camphor (191-92, college: SW Oklahoma St.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward James Hulbin (203-90, college: Northwestern St.) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Robert Oehle (209-88, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Mauricio Marin (193-94) added 19 points in the effort for Nuernberg. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nuernberg's coach Ralph Junge rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Bayer Giants maintains fifteenth position with 7-21 record. Nuernberg lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 15 games lost. Bayer Giants will face league's second-placed SC Rasta Vechta at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
