Regular Season Round 26: Final Genclik - Denizli 72-61

The most important game in the last round took place in Bursa between third ranked Denizli (18-8) and fifteenth ranked Final Genclik (9-17) on Wednesday night. Denizli was defeated by Final Genclik on the road 61-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Denizli. The game was mostly controlled by Final Genclik. Denizli managed to win third quarter 16-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Daishon Knight (185-91, college: Illinois St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Burak Erol (197-88) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Denizli. Final Genclik maintains fifteenth position with 9-17 record. Denizli at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. They share the position with Sakarya BSB and Gediz. Final Genclik are looking forward to face Istanbul DSI (#17) on the road in the next round. Denizli will play against Adanaspor (#18) and is hoping to win this game.
