Regular Season Round 26: Acibadem - Tofas 80-86

An interesting game for Tofas (24-2) which played road game in Istanbul against second-ranked Acibadem (21-5). First ranked Tofas managed to get a 6-point victory 86-80. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Acibadem. Acibadem was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Acibadem 41-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Caner Topaloglu (199-85) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) scored 23 points and 6 assists. Tofas maintains first position with 24-2 record. Newly promoted Acibadem keeps the second place with five games lost. Tofas will play against Eskisehir Basket (#10) in Edirne in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Acibadem will play on the road against Afyon (#7) in Afyonkarahisar and hopes to get back on the winning track.
