Second Stage Round 13: Suduva-Mantinga - Palanga 88-62

NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (32-5) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Palanga (19-18) in Marijampole 88-62. The game without a history. Suduva-Mantinga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Suduva-Mantinga outrebounded Palanga 42-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Coach Marius Kiltinavicius's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward RJ Sims (196, college: E.Mennonite) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 32-5 record. Loser Palanga dropped to the fourth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II and Perlas-MRU. Suduva-Mantinga will meet Zalgiris II (#4) in the next round. Palanga will play against Mazeikiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
