Regular Season Round 21: Mersin Gelisim - Ormanspor 49-71

TKBL top team - Ormanspor (19-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Mersin Gelisim (10-11) 71-49. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Mersin Gelisim. Ormanspor dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mersin Gelisim's 16. Ormanspor forced 24 Mersin Gelisim turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Gulsah Akkaya (181-77, agency: LBM Management) who scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and Sevgi Yaa (-98) added 12 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ormanspor maintains first place in Group A with 19-2 record. Newly promoted Mersin Gelisim keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Ormanspor's next round opponent will be Fenerbahce (#10) in Istanbul and are hoping to win another game. Mersin Gelisim will play on the road against Ferko Ilgaz (#9) in Kastamonu and hope to win that game.
