The game in Wels was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (14-16) played at the court of seventh ranked Raiffeisen Wels (13-17). Raiffeisen Wels defeated Furstenfeld Panthers 95-84 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Raiffeisen Wels. Furstenfeld Panthers was better in fourth quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raiffeisen Wels dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Furstenfeld Panthers' 34. They outrebounded Furstenfeld Panthers 35-17 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Raiffeisen Wels looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for American forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Lorenzo O'Neal (188-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 assists for the winners. Raiffeisen Wels' coach Mike Coffin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Croatian Marko Car (188-85) replied with 23 points and 4 assists and Croatian swingman Luka Katura (194-89) added 16 points in the effort for Furstenfeld Panthers. Five Raiffeisen Wels and four Furstenfeld Panthers players scored in double figures. Raiffeisen Wels maintains seventh position with 13-17 record. Furstenfeld Panthers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 16 games lost. Raiffeisen Wels will face Kapfenberg Bulls (#9) on the road in the next round. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against Vienna (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
