Regular Season Round 27: Denizli - Adanaspor 87-76

Date: March 19, 2016
Very expected game when 18th ranked Adanaspor (5-22) was defeated on the road by third ranked Denizli (19-8) 87-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Denizli. Adanaspor was better in fourth quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Denizli made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!). His fellow American import center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) helped adding 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. The best for the losing side was Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV) with 27 points and 9 rebounds and forward Oguz Erdogan (188-88) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Denizli maintains third place with 19-8 record having six points less than leader Tofas, which they share with Gediz. Loser Adanaspor stay dead last with 22 lost games. Denizli will face Gelisim (#8) in Izmir in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Adanaspor will play at home against Istanbul DSI (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
